Classic Gray Monday, is it or isnt it?

So gray grrrrayyyy, first of all, I must say that everyone could not not -notice (wow, double negative!) that gray gained a lot of recognition this winter, the palette ranging from the graphite tones to the silvery sparking silvers was all over the runways then stores, yes, dear readers, ALL OVER, can stress this enough, hugh?…anyway, gray will be one of those color trends that sticks around for longer, I can bet it will be back next winter season ( oh no, I know sad to think that winter is coming back). Grey was always considered a classic, but more for "older, less attractive, boring" ladies, but now it got back everything that this "no so flattering" opinion took from it, it is considered elegant, trendy, HOT again! mixes so well with every other color, so why wouldn’t it stay around on top? – it is always good to have grays at hand!
The outfit above is so simple, as simple as gray appears to other colors, the center piece of it is this sweater-scarf-thingy that I snatched at H&M just a couple days ago. I noticed those scarf-sweater-thingies creeping out from magazines, appearing around famous necks, peeking out onto the streets, finally to become more or less wildly available in stores. Since the winter is almost over, they are kind of missing the boat of becoming a big fashion trend in full swing, BUT I bet (even more on this one than the one above) those will come back next winter! yes, I do think I will make use of it again and again, and hopefully again in the winter-y future. I am saying this because I hope winter is almost over and it is not the perfect mood-environment to look at sweaters not to mention stacking up on sweater-scarf-thingies…anyhow, for now it was an instant attention grabber, a lot of people asked about and where I got it and how to wear it etc... I wore it with a ruffled white shirt to make it more office-friendly, but over the weekend I wore it with jeans and a bright lime long-sleeve simple shirt (for contrast – it looked even better). So ladies (I hope there is a few male readers or there will be in the future, but they wont buy this sweater...so that is why I exclaim: “ladies”) go and get yourselves scarf-sweater-thingies as these may be on sale now, you will rock it again next winter season, I almost guarantee it and buying now will save you a couple bucks.
Oh, and did I mention is it super warm and comfy? I was worried it will not keep me warm and that it will be sliding all over the place, but it “sits” in the position you want it to “sit” warming up your shoulders or back or both… any way you “customize it”, okay now I am done, see you next time around!

Polish Pride - New SUPERmodel in town!

did you hear? a new SUPER-model is in town and yes she's polish!!!! That makes me extra proud, and fabulously excited. I don't know why exactly so happy, but it does feel like I can claim some part in this entire success, weird... we share a name too! and it is awesome!

Poles do not export a ton of stuff abroad, we, as a country, are not rich in mineral resources, nor huge on production of anything in particular, yes, agreed: in times of communism, we were the first country in Europe in coal mining... but those times are over, the sooner everyone in Poland realizes that the better for the future of all-other-than-mining industries... but I digress, what I really wanted to say is that we are ahead of the curb "delivering beauty" to the rest of the world... we just have so manyyyyyy good looking girls, yes, yes, yes I do think that our relatively-small country has a big natural resource here, in the pretty girl category, nobody can argue that, our models have been gaining a renowned recognition around the globe... however, after the end of the super-model area of the 90', we did have to wait for another polish face to appear -literally everywhere - but once she came, it is literally everywhere, you name it, America, Europe even Asia, labels like Dior, Louis vitton, Chloe and many more - ALL biggest names and labels love her!!! she came, and her name is anja, just like me, so today I say: go Anja, be everywhere because you are awesome & polish!

Of course, there would not be a super model if she was not EVERYWHERE during New York fashion week:a whole slide show of what she bore/wore here

Walk the Walk

Posted by Picasa

so this is me, yes, I will walk the walk, not just talk the talk (BTW - hip idiom - so "put it on too") anyhow, I decided to post some of my very own ideas brought to life, yes, those real-life examples of how I work with what I've got, while loving what I show and follow online... I want to share my takes on what I write, my attempts to do what I preach... My daily fashion is a median of what inspires me and the limited capabilities of my closet and my wallet... isn't that a case for us all though? yeah, that's what I thought, that is what makes it so much harder doesn't it? right? because ,whoa, if one had all the money in the world, mhuhahahaha one would look like a 1000 bucks everyday, but lets get back on earth...

So here it is, my first outfit, it is my Friday outfit for when we all feel a bit more casual... it a very simple, yet feminine look, all it takes is some color-play, a belt and a ruffle here or there...AND voila! a perfect recipe for a perfect effortless, casual look yet with a little spark of ether-beauty.

I think it is a good example of what I am rumbling about above too. I love the color of the sweater, it is a very intense blue, broken down by my grey rider-pants and slightly toned-down shade of the belt, it harmonizes with the shirt through its very subtle blue tones, and then boldly contrasting with the raspberry splashes of color on the shirt, I thought it is a perfect love-hate relationship of colors, those two I think are in a very tight competition of being the most popular colors recently, that being blues (teal, navy blue etc) & violet( raspberry, hot pink, purple etc)...what do you think? love? hate? please feel free to let me know! I felt good wearing it, so the day was won for me, and now it is just history, a good memory, therefore open to deliberate on the outcome, so drop me a note if you fancy! for now, happy next outfit everyone and me!

Pre-Valentine Sweetness

I know in my first post I said I am a tutu-wearing-girly-girl inside, I also realize that something I am planning to admit to in a sec will collide a little with this first revelation, but we women are exactly that, filled with contradictions!
Anyway,I have to admit ….ready? drum rolls please… here it comes: I am not too big on the whole Valentine’s Day thing… Are you? I hope it is fine either way, I guess there is some truth to saying that the world can be divided into Valentine’s lovers and haters and that’s a good thing, there has to be balance in nature!
My impression of the holiday was formed during my “bad teens” period… and since I did not grow up with a herd of adorers, Valentine’s day was always a sad reminder that I am not the subject of sweet and romantic dreams of nobody… hey, reader(s) no pity for me!..no have no pity on me, I found me a great knight in a shiny armor eventually, I found me my C. , my husband, the greatest piemaker there is…however, the Valentine’s sweetness never caught up with me, with a piemaker, I get it every day after all… anyhow, what I am trying to say is I get tired of all this obvious pink hearts, and red roses, and chocolates, and all this craziness… also all the fashion proposed for the holidays became a tid bit tacky, I get so bored with notoriously overused reddish-pink from your corner drug-store, so… here it goes: lets not be obvious ladies, lets not turn slowly into snowmen-earnings-before-Christmas-wearing folks, I say no to becoming a holiday neon sign.
I am all about staying feminine, sweet, yet sophisticated and elegant. Ladies lets use the sweetness to our advantage, so be fresh and flirty instead of ostentatious and predictable… My inspiration is based around the cream shades, wonderfully popular ruffles (I hope they are here to stay!), and always elegant black complementing any dominant color or themes, the rest is up to you…pink or not, Happy, surprising, exciting AND SWEET Valentine’s Day!!!

Hello World!!!

A very happy hello – oh WORLD, HELLO – a warm hello to you my future visitors, a probable mix of “lost” readers, “ghost” readers or “imaginary” readers. For now this blog is just a promise, a little bud of expectations and ideas… but if you are patient with me I will try to make this space fabulous, hopefully enough to make you wanna come back…

I also want to proclaim to you oh WORLD that I will be trying to continue on with this project for myself, for me, me, me, me, or rather for this little, screaming girl inside, she still wears a tutu….she loves dressing-up, she loves shiny things and pretty things, she likes wearing heals too….. I want to release some of that little girl’s energy and put it to work, so a grown up Anja can justify it in her very reasonable mind as turning something silly into something productive. This very little girl, Anja who lives in me once had a dream, a dream to work for a fashion magazine, to have this one dream job – surrounded by everything a girl wants, of course life verifies all those girly dreams so I never became a part of Vouge editorial team, but now in the area of WEB 2.0 I can be my very own editor…so here I come, this will be fun and exciting, so yeah, hello world!
